Portfolio Development

Just a quick update – I finished Creative Presentation and Math classes and I’m starting Portfolio Development. This is a course I have been eagerly awaiting. As well as developing multiple online portfolios and social media profiles, we have the opportunity and time to take online certificate courses in the area of our choosing! I will be digging deeper into Nuke and getting familiar with Unreal Engine as well!! I know that real-time rendering is going to be the future, so I’m really excited to begin learning. New images and work will be coming to my portfolio soon!

Onward!!

New Website!

Hello, I’m Kyle Ragsdale. Some people call me Rocksdale. Welcome to my website! I’ve created this as a centralized location to show my work and put myself out there — into the world! I’ve uploaded some of my student work to the portfolio page.

As I write this, I’m just starting my 3rd year at Los Angeles Film School — half way done with my Bachelors in Animation Science. I can’t wait for what the next couple years bring. I’m finally going to start specializing in compositing and building an awesome portfolio! I’ve had some limited experience with Nuke and I can’t wait to get in deep. I love node-based software, it just seems so much more flexible. Expect some really exciting shots to be popping up on my website in the next months.

I have a few more shots finished that I can’t post yet, but once the projects are released, I will be adding them to my site. I’m also going to be working a couple VFX shots for music video that a very talented friend is making in the near future. The best is definitely yet to come, so don’t forget to check back!

Since the global pandemic, which has had me home-bound for the last 4 months, I’ve been attending classes online. LAFS has done a good job making it easy for me to learn from home, but I really miss interacting with my classmates. Hopefully, I will spend the next months planning, pre-visualizing, and re-planning the shots I want to work on next as well as assembling a crew with complimentary skills. By the time we’re ready to shoot, I’m optimistic that there will be enough COVID testing and safety protocols in use to get back out there. Maybe, we’ll even be able to go back into the classroom soon! That would be ideal.

Thanks for checking out my site! I’d love to hear from you if you would like to work together — or if you just have any questions, comments, criticisms, or witticisms!
